Journal and activity map

The Journal shows your own notes in date order, like a diary. Notes with a source (things you read or heard) are left out, so it stays about your own thinking.

Days, weeks and months

Click Journal in the sidebar. Use the Days, Weeks and Months switch at the top right to change how notes are grouped. Click any note to open it.

The activity map

At the top of the Journal is a year of your writing, one square per day. The darker the square, the more you wrote that day. Hover over a square to see the date and number of notes. The shades adjust to your own habits, so a busy day for you shows dark whatever “busy” means for you.

Above it are four numbers:

  • Notes this year
  • Active days: days you wrote at least one note.
  • Day streak: days in a row up to today.
  • Longest streak this year.

These are there to look at. Noughtpad doesn’t set goals, send reminders or give badges, and a broken streak doesn’t mean anything.
